Web Design Process

Discovery
The first step to creating your website is to sit down with you and discuss your website requirements in detail.
We will also provide you with a website questionnaire which helps us get a better idea of your business, your goals and the websites function and purpose.
With this information, we will draw up a proposal and arrange another meeting where we can further discuss and take the next step developing and designing your website.

Design
Once we have discussed your web site requirements and devised a plan of action, we send you a contract and invoice. A signed contract and 50% deposit reserves your start date on our development schedule.
When your project date arrives, we begin working on the preliminary design for your web site. We will then organise a meeting for you to view the initial designs and you can provide feedback, requests or alterations you would like to make.
Once we have made the revisions to your website, we continue the process of fine tuning and altering the design until we have your approval.
The alteration side of web design can also be the most time consuming. It is our goal to produce a design that reflects your business and that you are happy with. However, depending on the amount of changes you want to make, will also hinder the date of completion.

Code
Once we’ve received your approval on the design, we are able to move onto the web development stage. This is where we take the design and create the XHTML, CSS and PHP code that make up the functional Drupal theme files.
We create an installation of Drupal on our server and add or develop the modules needed to provide the functionality required.

Content
Depending on the size of your site and its content will play a large role in how long the website takes to complete.
We prefer to use the Drupal framework for our websites, and this is largely because Drupal is a content management system (CMS). A CMS is designed to allow non-technical users to log on to their website and update or add pages whenever they need.

Launch
Once you’ve approved the website on our development server we will transfer the site over to your own web server eg. Yourdomain.co.nz.
After the transfer is complete, we run through a final set of tests to be sure that everything is functional, and you are all set! This marks the official launch of your web site, making it “Live” for the viewing public.
Once the website is launched, we will require the final payment for the website, including any overtime that the development may have incurred, for example, website alterations required by the client.

Maintenance
With a Drupal driven CMS website, the power is put into your hands. With easy-to-use navigation, and a user guide provided by Kiss Digital, you can make changes to your website whenever updates are necessary.
However, if you would prefer that Kiss Digital managed and updated your website, then we would be more than happy to continue working with you.
